Combining the human and the animal images, a form will be constructed using basic hand building techniques. We will explore ways of developing personal symbols to allow the piece to have meaning and metaphor. After construction, the surfaces will be treated with dry clays, engobes and underglazes. Demos include construction techniques and a painterly approach to the wet surface.
The workshop fee includes 25 pounds of red sculpture clay, surface treatment, firings and three lunches at the studio. Lunches are a combination of Northern New Mexican food and healthy salads.
